Middle School
Middle school is a time in a student’s life when his or her horizons are expanding. The Middle School curriculum at GSB is designed to build confidence and competence. Small class size (average 15) encourages interaction between teachers and students.
By the time they leave the Middle School, our students are well-grounded in the academic skills necessary to succeed in the Upper School and have developed a positive sense of who they are and what they can accomplish.
Interscholastic sports in the Middle School include soccer, cross country and girls tennis in the fall, basketball in the winter, and baseball, softball, track and boys tennis in the spring. While emphasizing participation, the program is a competitive one. In addition there are several other extracurricular activities available to the students including newspaper, yearbook, student government and forensics. An afternoon study hall and extra help period runs everyday from 3 p.m. until 5:15 p.m.
