Units underway
Upper School students are participating in 16 different Units. Below are descriptions of a few of the offerings.
‘Peace Studies’ participants are visiting Israel for ten days, meeting with Palestinian and Jewish students in their schools, visiting in the homes of Druze families,meeting with peace activists, dining in a Bedouin tent, visiting the historic sites in Jerusalem, Jaffa, Tel Aviv, Haifa, Dead Sea, and canoeing down the Jordan River
‘New Hampshire’ participants are camping, hiking, canoeing, and learning orienteering and leadership skills through overnight outings in Worthing State Forest and High Point State Park – in preparation for a week-long expedition in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
‘History of GSB’ participants are undertaking the production of a video history of the school; identifying and interviewing GSB community members past and present and videotaping and editing their material into a finished form that will become a valuable part of GSB archives.
‘Animal Behavior’ participants are working with animals conducting experiments in behavioral conditioning and learn about the psychology of animal behavior from scientists and other professionals who work with terrestrial and marine mammals.
