Rising Star nominations for "The Secret Garden"
Congratulations to the cast and crew of THE SECRET GARDEN for their eight Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star nominations. One hundred schools from throughout New Jersey participate in the Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards Program. Four evaluators critique each production and give their recommendation for nominations in 15 artistic and technical categories. Gill St. Bernard’s received nominations in the following areas:
Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical
Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role – Lauren Ullrich ’08 as “Lily Craven” (Miss Ullrich won this award in 2007)
Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role – Steven Helferich “08 as “Archibald Craven”
Outstanding Achievement by a Teacher or Outside Director – Paul H. Canada
Outstanding Achievement in Musical Direction – David and Amy Southerland
Outstanding Scenic Achievement – Paul H. Canada and John Helferich
Outstanding Costume Achievement – Paul H. Canada and Lynn Helferich (Mr. Canada won this award in 2007)
Outstanding Achievement in Graphic Design – Margie and Rich Palatini
